In America, sleep tests are being conducted to determine the cause of various sleep patterns that is a large part of absenteeism in the work force.

It is a well known fact that we live in a fast-paced world and people get tied up in doing and doing things to the point of exhaustion.  If you are a person that has to go to bed and sleep then you are one of the lucky ones as there are millions pf people out there in this world that would swap places with you and the research that has been done in the past has shown there is a cost if you are not getting quality sleep.

When you have had only a few hours sleep the leptin levels in the physical body drops and you can feel full or an increase in the hormone ghelin which can make you feel hungry, either way the effect is not good on the bodies immune system or its cardiovascular system.

One of the Home Remedies that is being tried is visualising yourself in a nice warm place, relaxing the body as the sea laps over your feet, or if that is not for you then try using the essential oils of chamomile or lavender which  are well known fort their ‘calming effect’. Here are a few tips to help:

•    Don’t start worrying over bills or thinking about work before bed.
•    Worry if you can’t get to sleep straight away - read or have a milky drink

Do’s
•    Take a warm bath with the lights turned low and candles around the room fo relaxation
•    Practice yoga or breathing techniques that are available
