The Benefits of Walnut Leaf
Legend says that in the time when Gods walked the earth they survived on walnuts. The name walnut came from the plant family name Juglans or Jupiter’s nut. The walnut tree has been native to Europe since Roman times and was cultivated to harvest the nuts. Today walnuts are renowned for being rich in omega-3 essential fatty acids.
Traditionally the green leaves of this tree were also well known for their healing qualities. Rich in tannins the walnut leaf is capable of tightening and constricting tissues. It was used to protect the skin due to its anti-inflammatory properties and its ability to reduce itching.
