Banish the Orange Peel
It’s every woman’s dread. One day you catch sight of the back of your legs or your tummy and shriek in horror – cellulite! Cellulite is the name given to the natural process that occurs after puberty when the skin becomes dimpled on the legs, abdomen and buttocks.
Experts don’t know for sure what causes cellulite but one possibility is that it is to do with how women’s fat cells and the connective tissue that hold them in place interact. Women’s fat cells are more easily damaged than those of men and as women put on weight the fat cells bulge out causing the orange peel effect. This could explain why so few men get cellulite as their skin is much tougher and doesn’t show fat as easily.
