Tackle Hair Loss with Aromatherapy

Here are some tips to reducing hair loss using Aromatherapy Oils:

To encourage hair growth by activating the hair follicles try a blend of aromatherapy essential oils consisting of lavender and bay.  Add 3 drops of each essential oil into a base oil of sweet almond oil and then using your finger tips massage into the scalp and hairline.  Leave on for 30 minutes and the rinse out with tepid water.

This oil blend is not only great for stimulating hair growth but will relieve tension and stress which is linked to hair loss.  Alternatively add the oils to your favourite shampoo to benefit from their effects.  Then use the shampoo twice weekly.

Mix castor oil and sweet almond oil to make a nourishing conditioner for the hair and scalp.  Massage the oils into the scalp twice weekly.

Another good moisturizer for the scalp and hair follicles is extra-virgin olive oil.  This can provide all the relevant nutrients for healthy hair growth.  Apply by massaging an ample amount into the scalp and hair just before bedtime.  Use a plastic shower cap and leave the oil on until the morning.  Then wash it out with a gentle chemical free shampoo.

To make hair stronger mix henna leaves and mustard oil.  Heat the oil and add the leaves and leave in a warm area for one hour.  Strain the leaves and use the oil twice weekly as a conditioner and scalp massage oil.

To strengthen weak roots mix aromatherapy oils rosemary, cedarwood, lavender and thyme to jojoba or grapeseed oil.  Massage the scalp for a few minutes every night  leaving the oil on until morning.  Rinse in the morning and continue treatment for three months.

  2. Hello Chandra,
    Thanks for your comment.

We don’t have any natural hair colorants at this moment, but I thank you for the suggestion because it might be something that we may consider in the future.

But we have found an all natural recipe for you to cover your grey hair.

Covering Gray: Simmer 1/2 cup dried sage in 2 cups water for 30 minutes, then steep for several hours. Apply to hair and leave on until dried. Then rinse and dry. Repeat weekly, until desired shade, then monthly to maintain color.
