Natural Skin Cleansing Regime

As the largest organ of the body the skin should be viewed as one of the most important.  It is your body’s first line of defence against pathogens, it disposes of toxins releasing waste products that are poisonous to your body and helps you to keep control of your temperature either retaining heat in cold conditions or cooling us when temperatures start to soar.

If you don’t keep the skin in tip top condition you can start to suffer in other areas of the body.  Taking extra care of this body organ should be part of your daily routine and introducing a natural beauty regime can make sure that your skin functions optimally and looks its best.

One of the main stumbling blocks for healthy, clear skin is having a good skin cleansing routine.  Here are some great Home Remedies for a natural skin care programme:

  • A fabulous skin cleanser that will help to clear clogged pores is to add a quarter of a teaspoon of lime juice that has been freshly squeezed to one teaspoon of milk and to another teaspoon of cucumber juice.  Smooth this onto the skin and leave for 10 minutes before rinsing off.
  • If you suffer from oily skin a simple home remedy is to use fresh tomatoes to clear away any oily residue.  Slice a fresh tomato and apply the slices to the affected areas on the skin.  To make sure you are not sensitive to tomatoes apply to the skin on your arm first.
  • If you suffer from dry or rough skin using baking soda in the shower on a weekly basis can help to smooth the skin.  Apply to wet skin and rub thoroughly before rinsing off.  This acts as a natural exfoliant.
