Urinary infections can be painful and unpleasant.  Some people are more predisposed to hem than others however most us will experience cystitis at some point.

Of all the natural Herbal Remedies cranberry is perhaps the most well known.  It has been proven to have antibacterial qualities that hinder bacteria adhering o the urinary tract tissues.  In their purest forms i.e. unsweetened can help to remove any bacteria nasties.

If you are interested in homeopathy then see a registered homeopath as the treatment using homeopathy is dependent on the symptoms, appearance and even the behaviour of the patient.  The top homeopathic remedies used are Catharis, Staphisagria, Apis and Sarsasparilla.

Nutritional therapy can also help.  By increasing the amount of wholefoods eaten, eating organic wherever possible and plenty of raw fruit and vegetables you can dramatically improve your susceptibility to UTI’s.  Garlic may also be recommended for its anti-inflammatory properties.
Sometime food intolerance may trigger a urinary tract infection.  In this case an exclusion diet can be used to identify the problem food.  Alternatively you may be recommended an anti-candida diet.
If food allergy or intolerance is thought to be a factor in some cases of cystitis, the therapist may put you on an exclusion diet to try and identify any foods that may be sparking off symptoms. You may be put on an anti-candida (yeast and sugar free) diet.
