Lavender aromatherapy oil is a must for a persons starter pack of Home Remedies and
is the most popular essential oil for new beginners.

If you have had a new baby or perhaps you are looking to treat a partner to a massage, this is the oil that is famous for calming the mind and the body thus increasing a persons feeling of self worth.
If you have decided the basic technique of massage looks complicated, add a couple of drops of Lavender aromatherapy oil to base carrier oil such as grapeseed and mix gently.

Tips for a massage
•    Place some of the oil in your palms and the heat will warm up the oil and you are ready to massage
•    Cut nails if they are very long, especially if massaging a baby

Method
Smoothing the oil over a person’s back can have a calming effect by gently moving the hands in circles over the body, without too much pressure especially in the base of the back.

When feeling relaxed in the movements try moving both hands up and down the spine gently but in a formed movement.

If the person being massaged has any pain stop the treatment immediately.

Do not take a shower or bath straight after a massage treatment.

Once a little more practiced in the art of massage a person can recognise if there are knots in certain areas where the muscles in the body have tightened up through the day with stress and anxiety.

•    Other essential oils that you can try are Sandalwood, Jasmine and Chamomile

•    Warning: Do not massage pregnant ladies without a doctors permission and no essential oils can be used only the base carrier oil
