If you suffer from ongoing stress then you should actively consider incorporating Herbal Remedies into your stress management plan.  You can take them for several months without fear of dependence or any withdrawal symptoms.

Here are some of the best herbs for beating stress:

Kava kava is used widely across Europe for the treatment of stress.  It is used to treat acute and chronic types of anxiety and stress symptoms without causing drowsiness or sedating the patient.  This is one of the common side effects of conventional drugs for stress.  It can also be used to alleviate insomnia and assist in lessening alcohol dependency.

St. John’s Wort is nature’s answer to conventional anti-depressants and is every effective at relieving stress and anxiety.  It needs to be taken over a few consecutive weeks for the effects to be felt.  It hinders the removal of serotonin from the brain which is responsible for making us feel calm and happy.   Like the other herbs it is not addictive.

Valerian is the natural equivalent to diazepam or Valium. Although it has similar ingredients it is not addictive and good for inducing a sound sleep and easing anxiety.  If you take Valerian to aid sleep you will not wake up feeling groggy as is usual with conventional sleeping tablets.
