According to the Ferris State University in the USA, spices and herbs are doing just as well as prescription drugs and are replacing items in the modern medicine cupboard.

There is a number of uses that spices and Herbal Remedies can help in the home as part of their job is to treat ailments such as arthritis, aging factors and hopefully cancerous cells.

Food is a large part of every day life and it is easier now to buy ingredients that fit in to every day life.

There are traditional recipes that can be of benefit especially the Asian dishes because the herbs that they add to the food for their evening meals not only smells good but does the body good. The Asian population already believe the food they cook feeds their soul which then looks after the mind and body.

One of the spices that are popular and easily adaptable as a home remedy in every day life is ginger which is well known to help to settle the digestive system.

Here are one or two more spices that can be used in cooking if you decide to try some in your meals.

•    Turmeric is yellow in colour and is used as a curry ingredient.  It is supposed to help with arthritis, and in some cases, chrohns disease
•    Gingko seeds can improve the memory and help prevent Alzheimer’s disease

It is advisable to consult a doctor if you are taking tablets that have been subscribed or bought over the counter.
