Green Tea and Prostate
Green tea has long been refuted for holding powerful healing propertise and most recently it has been connected to the treatment of prostate cancer and Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy (BPH). The antioxidants and phytochemicals in the green tea act as a prostate medicine to reduce enlargement and tone the gland.
Prostate cancer is the second biggest killer of men of all the cancers. Even benign enlargement can cause some upsetting symptoms such as urination problems and poor libido and sexual performance. Prostate cancer is so deadly as it can spread from the prostate to any part of the body and even benign prostate enlargement can become cancerous.
The UK Tea Council studied 32 men with has pre-cancer lesions. After one year of taking the green tea therapy only one man developed full blown cancer. However of the 30 men not given green tea therapy, 9 went on to develop prostate cancer.
It has also been indicated that breast cancer may be treated with green tea although any advertisements to this affect have been restricted. Green tea has no known side effects so there seems to be no harm in including it in a man’s diet . The overall benefits of ingesting an antioxidant rich drink seem to weigh out any skepticism about its cancer beating properties.
