Essential Oils for Neck Pain Relief

By adapting your daily routine and using some simple technique you can prevent or reduce the instances of neck pain.

Firstly become aware of your posture.  Bad posture is a major cause of neck pain and by practicing a good posture you can minimize many back and neck issues.  Your head and balance are constantly balancing and adapting to gravity.  When poor posture throws the lower back forward, the upper back starts to curve backwards to compensate.  This position puts strain on the neck and back and gradually starts to cause pain and discomfort.

Stand against a wall with your heel a few inches away from the surface of the wall.  Make sure your shoulders and buttocks make contact with the wall and your head is close to it.  Hold the chin level.  Try to maintain this posture throughout the day.

Keep fit.  Excess weight puts strain on the back and neck.

Build strength in your core stomach muscles.  Do exercise to strengthen the abdominal muscles so that strain is taken away from the back.

Try a body massage to ease tension in the neck.  Aromatherapy Oils can be used to further relax the mind and body.  Alternatively add aromatherapy oils to the bath or steep compresses in an aromatherapy oil solution.  Oils such as ginger, peppermint, thyme and marjoram have strong anti-inflammatory properties and help to relax muscle tension and ease pain.
