As Cool as a Potato?

It’s that time of year when your favourite deodorant just doesn’t seem to cut it!  You get to about 2.00pm in the afternoon and the office starts to feel like a greenhouse and get that sticky hot feeling under your armpits.

Body odour is one of those personal nasties that gets us recoiling with embarrassment when it strikes.  There are some wonderful Home Remedies that can get you through the summer months without reaching for industrial strength body sprays

  • Mix a few drops of glycerin and radish juice.  Apply it to areas prone to sweating such as feet, underarms and neck.
  • The humble potato is great at controlling body odour.  Rub a slice of potato under your arms – it will keep you cool and control sweating.
  • Rosemary or tea tree essential oils can be mixed in a small quantity of water to make a cooling body tonic.  Dab it on to freshen up and to wash away perspiration.
  • Turnip juice can be used on sweat prone areas to minimize perspiration and control odour
  • Tomatoes are also effective at eliminating odour.  Try two cups of tomato juice in the bath
  • Finally a mixture of one tablespoon of lemon juice with two tablespoons of baking powder can be used to keep you smelling fresh on those balmy summer days.
