Filed under: Herbal Remedies — Robert @ 9:58 am

This herbal plant can be used as one of numerous Herbal Remedies. It needs special attention but can be highly effective.

Apricot is a deciduous tree that sprouts small single white flowers before the orange –red fruit appears with a hard kernel in the middle.

The fruit and the kernel are used to treat ailments and as an ingredient in beauty products.

The apricot kernel is used for oil in beauty products and is often an ingredient in exfoliating products.

Therapeutic uses:

• The kernel can be used for bronchitis and breathing problems.
• The taste is bitter yet sweet and is useful in combating a dry cough.
• Can be mixed with other herbs to help relieve productive coughs too.
• Tests are being carried out to see if there is any positive outcome in the relief of cancer, as yet without success.
Warning:
• The fruit of this tree can cause diarrhoea if it is eaten unripe.
• Do not use without consulting a doctor if you think you may be pregnant or are taking a prescribed medication.
• In some cases the herb can cause an allergic reaction, always do an allergy patch test where applicable.
